| Prior to joining the firm in 1998, Phil worked for over eight years as an Assistant State's Attorney in the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office in Wheaton, Illinois. As an Assistant State's Attorney, he handled thousands of misdemeanor cases and went on to become a Felony First Chair and eventually head of the Gang Crimes Unit. As a prosecutor, one of Phil's noteworthy cases was "The Oprah Burglar." The Oprah Burglar was an individual who appeared numerous times on the Oprah Winfrey television show to discuss his exploits. Phil was able to use this and other evidence to successfully prosecute him. He has tried to juries many types of cases including murder, drug offenses and sexual assault cases. He now employs his expertise to help persons accused of committing criminal offenses. Phil has appeared on television numerous times and has been invited to speak at seminars and conferences on criminal law. Since joining the firm, Phil has represented clients in counties throughout Illinois and at all stages of proceedings. Additionally, as a member of the firm, he has represented several high-profile defendants, including a teacher accused of sexually assaulting two children and a high school student accused of robbing a bank. Phil is admitted to practice in Illinois and the
Federal Courts and has been admitted to the Federal Trial
Bar. Phil is a member of the DuPage and Kane County Bar
Associations. |
